This week we primarily focus on what may well be in Genesis the most obvious and most gripping typology that points to The Father's Sacrifice of His Only Son, Jesus Christ, to Save Us From Death and Destruction.
Genesis 22 is the story of Abraham's call to sacrifice Isaac as a burnt offering. Treat yourself to some extended exposure to this text by reading it several times with this typology in full view.
Here's a one sentence snapshot of the theme: "The Lord provides a sacrificial lamb so that He people may life." There are so many ways to apply this text to our own lives. The first and obvious one ought to be to intensify your gratitude and praise to God our Father for Providing the Lamb so you could live forever in His presence in His Kingdom.
Imitating Abraham's faith is another - see Hebrews 11:19
Text: Genesis 22:1-19
Title: "God Himself Will Provide the Lamb"
