A Husband's Greatest Challenge, Part 1
March 12, 2017 Series: Becoming Mature
Topic: Maturity Passage: Ephesians 5:25–5:27, 1 Corinthians 13:1–13:13
John Stott describes Eph. 5:25-27 clearly: "What stands out in Paul's development of this theme is the sacrificial steadfastness of the heavenly Bridegroom's covenant-love."
Notice the 5 Verbs that unfold this covenant-love: "He loved her, gave himself up for her, to sanctify her, having cleansed her, that he might present her to himself..."
It seems like a sequence that traces Christ's love for the church from eternity past to eternity future!
Oh, that we husbands would meditate on Christ's love for His Bride to the point of being transformed into the kind of men who love their wives with the power of Christ's love!!!
